Payment Gateway Integration for Prop Firms

Connect a confirmed payment to the correct order, trading account and customer record. PropFirmsTech helps scope the payment connections within your prop firm operating software, with provider responsibilities, failure handling and reconciliation agreed before implementation.

Reviewed 31 October 2026. Available gateways, payment methods, currencies and workflows depend on the agreed integration and each provider's approval of your business.

Confirm payment-provider eligibility first

Present the provider with your actual entity, countries served, evaluation model, customer terms and payment flows. A software connection, test transaction or another firm's use of a provider does not establish that your business is eligible.

Provider policies differ. Stripe's published prohibited-business list explicitly includes funded prop trading. PayPal's acceptable-use policy has its own prohibited activities and pre-approval categories, while Adyen distinguishes merchant and platform business models when applying restrictions. These policies are not a universal “high-risk merchant” approval route. Obtain the applicable provider decision for the exact business and service before proceeding.

Payment eligibility, identity screening and the firm's wider obligations are separate questions. An integration does not certify the business's regulatory status or replace its own professional review.

Define the integration scope

Checkout and payment confirmation

Agree the products, price and currency records, customer-facing payment methods, authentication steps and the provider event that confirms payment. Keep declined, pending and confirmed outcomes distinct. Do not activate an account solely because a customer reaches a success page.

Orders, CRM and account provisioning

Join the payment reference to the order and the resulting platform account in the CRM and trader dashboard. Define what happens when payment succeeds but account creation is delayed, and who resolves the exception. Repeated notifications should not create duplicate access.

Refunds and adjustments

Keep the original payment, any refund request, provider refund result and account adjustment linked. Specify how a change affects access and affiliate records. A refund request and a completed refund need different states.

Reward and settlement records

Distinguish collecting evaluation fees, receiving a processor settlement and paying a trader reward. Each has its own references and reconciliation process. Use the payout reconciliation checklist to define approval, instruction, outcome and exception evidence.

Agree security and operational responsibilities

What to bring to a payment-integration demo

The API integration checklist provides a handover structure. For operational monitoring, read the payment processing guide. If an existing system is being replaced, include the migration acceptance gates in the plan.

Ask for a written scope covering setup, recurring and third-party costs, provider dependencies, testing and support. Approval, transaction acceptance and settlement timing remain provider-specific; no universal success rate or launch date is implied.
